About
The Pissed Off Catfish are a country-blues-americana band based out of central Indiana. Playing a mixture of original and cover songs, the ‘Catfish are a crowd favorite pumping out swampy blues and just enough classic country sounds to keep the old folks happy.
The core of the Pissed Off Catfish consists of Rob Doty (lap steel and guitar), Jeffrey Stigelman (acoustic guitar and mandolin), and Colin Clark (banjo and guitar). All three contribute to the group’s reportoir of original music and contribute lead and backing vocals.
Doty, Stigelman, and Clark started the Pissed Off Catfish in the fall of 2008 with the intention of forming a bar cover-band that focused on classic country music and possibly performing a few of their own songs as well. It soon became clear that with three prolific song-writers in the group, they would soon be performing predominantly original material. They currently have a few dozen orignal songs and many more cover songs that they will pull out to dazzle an audience.
In addition to the three-man core, the ‘Catfish also regularly perform with Richard ‘Rich’ Florey on Bass, John Marque and Jon Couch on Drums, Landon Curtis on Piano and auxilary percussion, and Ryan Beck on vocals and (occasionally) drums. The group has a long tradition of employing the talents of other musicians on their label, MWMC Records.
The Pissed Off Catfish are currently playing shows all over Indiana and their new record “Whiskey Whiskers” is available on Amazon, iTunes, CD Baby, and select retail locations.
