Rob Doty

Rob Doty has had several interesting starts in music over the years. At the age of 6 he began taking piano lessons, which lasted only a few short weeks.  A few years later when he began playing drum set, he began to re-teach himself the basics of piano and music theory.  While in high school, Rob was a member of several choir and show choir ensembles.  At the age of 16 he began to teach himself to play the guitar.

When asked about his music history, Rob had this to say:

“I’m a self-taught musician.  I think that’s definitely helped to define my personality within my music.  I enjoy not knowing what I’m doing sometimes, it makes it exciting and challenging… I’ve had the great pleasure of surrounding myself with some truly amazing musicians over the years. They have taught me so much about music and myself.”

Rob plays lap steel, acoustic and electric guitars, and also sings lead and background vocals for the Pissed Off Catfish.  Notable contributions as a songwriter include: Girls in Tennessee and All My Love.

Rob is also a member (guitarist) of the Lit Endz and Teethpussy.
